Faq

Civil Services Examination is a 3-stage examination held every year.

Stage 1: Preliminary Test

Stage 2: Main Exam

Stage 3: Personality Test / Interview

It is an objective type exam for the selection of candidates for the main examination. There are two papers –

1. Paper I (General Studies): 100 questions, 200 marks, 0.66 (1/3rd) will reduced for a wrong answer.

2. Paper II (CSAT): 80 questions, 200 marks, 0.88 (1/3rd) will be reduced for a wrong answer.

There is a cut-off in the preliminary test which varies every year and is decided by the UPSC. Paper II is qualifying in nature. A candidate has to score 67 marks or get 27 questions right for his Paper I to be evaluated.

It depends on which category you belong to. If you are an SC/ST candidate, then you do not have to worry. You have unlimited attempts. Yes but only till 37 years of your age. If you are an OBC candidate then you have 9 attempts, till 35 years of your age. For General candidates, maximum attempts are 6, till the years of 32 years.

Yes, physically handicapped candidates belonging to the general category shall be eligible for 7 attempts.

Any degree (graduation). It may be regular or distant. The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Whether you have passed your graduation privately or regularly does not matter. The University which has taken your examination, however, must be one that has been recognized by UGC. Remember that such distance learning universities like IGNOU are also recognized by university.

Prelims exam is a screening exam. It is of objective kind whereas mains exam is descriptive in nature.

Subjects offered are General Studies, CSAT, Public Administration, Geography, Sociology.

Exams conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Group I & Group II exams conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

SSC CGL/CHSL exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC)

Railway exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)

Uniform Service exam conducted by Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB SI/PC)

Teacher Training exam conducted by Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET)

and Banking exam. (Private/Govt)

Every year we host four batches May, June, July and November.

Regular batch:

Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Weekends (Sat & Sun): 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Yes. At the time of joining you have to pay at least 50% of the total fee, remaining in one month time.

Yes. Study materials are provided to the students for all subjects of the general studies.

Yes. Every day test will be held based on the syllabus that had covered in previous day.

Yes. It is free for ASPIRANT students. Non-ASPIRANT students can also join it by paying fee.

Yes. Every year two times, once just after UPSC/TNPSC prelims examination and another just after UPSC/TNPSC Mains.
